Organization to combine fundraiser with awards ceremony
The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk will present its 2015 Red Apple Awards Ceremony, along with the aquarium’s annual Cirque de la Mer.
This year’s theme will be ‘The Circle of Life’. The evening will include a cocktail reception, an elegant sit-down dinner, silent, and live auctions and the awards ceremony. Dress will be business attire.
For the 16th year, the fundraiser will benefit the aquarium’s Red Apple Fund for Student Enrichment. This fund creates scholarships for Connecticut school children, as well as for children in New York’s metropolitan area to participate in the aquarium’s programs and exhibits.
The Red Apple awards honor individuals, companies, and organizations that have made major contributions to environmental education and concern for the natural world. This year’s recipients will be Shipman & Goodwin LLP, the Robin Rohn family, and the Michael Herde family.
The event is scheduled for April 23, from 6:00 pm until 9:30 pm at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, 10 North Water Street, Norwalk. The cocktail reception will run from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm, with a silent auction from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The dinner, live auction and awards ceremony will run from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Local organizations can still reserve tables, and attendees will not want to forget their digital business cards for exchanging with other attendees.
