Norwalk welcomes Sono Arts Fest
Sono Arts Fest is scheduled to welcome thousands of attendees early in August.
Over 125 juried fine artist artists and craft people will be selling their original work. Guests that attend events such as this often ask their favorite artists for their business cards to get in touch with them later.
A Children’s Art Area located at the intersection of Washington Street and South Main will have the little ones creating projects, doing activities such as paint reusable tote bags and enjoying the live entertainment on the stage.
The Main Stage will have performers such as Alex Peterson, Similar Kind, Avenue, Juicy Grapes, Danny Evans, the Velez Band and Blind Rhino on Saturday. Artists on Sunday will include Alex Peterson, Canyon, Avenue and Old School. Performing artists will also be milling in the crowd.
The popular Puppet Parade, led this year by the Funky Dawgs Band, will take place on Sunday afternoon August 2nd beginning at 2:00 pm. Volunteers have been working all year to create the giant, colorful, imaginative puppets. Everyone is welcome to put on the finishing touches at the Children’s Art area and come back at 1:00 pm on Sunday to pick out a puppet and march in the parade.
Sono Arts Fests will be on S. Main Street Saturday August 1st and 2nd from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Saturday the music will continue late into the evening.
