Norwalk welcomes holiday season with music
Norwalk will enjoy an assortment of holiday music events during December.
The Norwalk Community Chorale is presenting a free “Wonder of Winter” concert on Saturday, December 7. Some highlights of the evening will include a traditional Czech carol “Hydom, Tiddlydom”; a 12th-Century Irish tune “Wexford Carol”; A Chanukah “Eight Days of Lights”; “Carols of the Night”, and “The Angel Gabriel” – a 19th-Century carol.
Brian Muller, the chorale’s Artistic Director, will conduct the 80-member chorus. Will Duchon will be the pianist, and the American Chamber Orchestra will be conducted by Christopher Hisey the orchestra’s Artistic Director. The curtain will go up at 7:30 pm in the Norwalk Concert Hall, 125 East Avenue.
Friends and families of community chorale members often take pictures at events such as this. They take the photos to local print shops for copies to give to the member and to distribute to other interested parties.
A Chrystal Singers Holiday Cabaret will be at the Ben Franklin Theater in the Crystal Theatre Performing Arts Center, 66 Bayview Avenue, on December 7 at 7:00 pm. The program will include traditional favorites and a medley of songs from the movie “Frozen.”
The Norwalk Inn will be one of the three locations for “The Art of Christmas”. This musical comedy will come with a four-course meal during the intermission. Evening performances will be on December 13, 21, and 22. Matinees will be December 8, 15, and 22.
