Norwalk spends Sundays at summer music festival

Norwalk residents can while away their Sunday summer evenings enjoying bands performing at the Rowayton Civic Association's Summer Music Festival.

Guests are invited to bring picnics, blankets and lawn chairs to watch the sunset while enjoying live bands on the venue's waterfront stage.

Families that enjoy going to festivals like this occasionally go to local Print shops and purchase colorful matching T-Shirts adorned with family crests or logos to keep track of everyone during the event.

Jeremy Beck & the Heavy Duty Horns will begin the festival on June 29. July 4 will see Juice Box take the stage at 6:00 pm. It then skips a weekend before Great Blue performs on July 20, and Neal Francis will entertain on July 27. All these performances will be at Bayley Beach, 11 Pine Point Road.

In August, the festival will move to Pinkney Park, 17 Rowayton Avenue. On August 10, Psycodelics will head the lineup, and Harbour will be on stage on August 17. The August 24 is yet to be confirmed, but Bim Skala Bim will end the season on August 31.

Although admission will be free for residents who have parking stickers, non-residents will need to pay a walk-in fee of $10 per person or $25 per family. Free parking will be available at the Community Parking Lot, 148 Rowayton Avenue, Rowayton School at 1 Roton Avenue and Rowayton Railroad Station at 299 Rowayton Avenue.

All events will begin at 5:30 pm, with the exception of July 4 when Juicebox take the stage at 6:30 pm.
