Norwalk shows its love of Christmas
Norwalk kids have many events to choose from this holiday season. Two events here in town will be the Shark-diving Santa experience and Mooseltoe.
The Maritime Aquarium will be presenting Shark-Diving Santa as an information vehicle about sharks. Santa will don his special scuba diving gear and swim with the sharks, some of which measure eight feet long. For truly unique Christmas photo opts, he will pose with children at the exhibit window. Families who attend the earlier shows will still have time to take the pictures to local print shops to be made into Christmas cards.
For another rather unusual event, the Wall Street Theater will present a new ‘moosical’, Mooseltoe- a Christmas tale about a moose wanting to soar with Santa’s reindeer. The story is replete with the great wise Mooseking, three snobby penguins, Will the fat walrus, and a gangster-type snowman.
A short trip to nearby Stamford will take Norwalk families to a Giant Balloon Inflation Party, Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular - one of the country’s largest helium balloon parades – and Heights & Lights, a tree lighting ceremony where Santa, Grinch, Rudolph and friends descend from the 22-story building at Landmark Square.
Shark-diving Santa will be at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, 10 North Water Street on various dates from November 24 through December 30 .
The Stamford events will take place November 17 and 18, and December 2. Mooseltoe will be at the Wall Street Theater November 25 at 2:00 pm.
