Norwalk Seaport Association schedules first tour of summer

Norwalk Seaport Association will offer its first 2021 summer Sheffield Island Lighthouse and Harbor Tour at the end of May.

The Norwalk Seaport Association has maintained Sheffield Island Lighthouse for years and is the Norwalk Islands’ official friends group. The organization will be offering a three-and-a-half-hour narrated tour of the three light houses and Norwalk harbor. The tour will stop for an hour at the Sheffield Island Lighthouse. Here, along with a tour of the lighthouse, guests can enjoy the beaches and the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge.

The departure location will be in Historic South Norwalk at Washington Street and North Water Street, and the tour will leave the Sheffield Island Lighthouse dock.

Adult tickets will be $37, while seniors pay $32 and children are $25. Tickets for a family of four (two adults and two children) are $97. Capacity is limited so advance reservations are encouraged and tickets are issued for a specific time and date.

Families that take tours like these often bring cameras along for photos of family members collecting shells, observing the wildlife and enjoying the views. The pictures often go to local stationery printers to be added to family calendars.

The first Visit Sheffield Island Lighthouse and Harbor Tour will be May 29 from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm, and will begin at Norwalk Seaport Ferry Dock at 4 North Water Street.
