Norwalk revels in cultural diversity with celebration

Norwalk International Cultural Exchange (NICE) and the Norwalk Department of Recreation and Parks are presenting the 5th Annual NICE Festival 2020 in mid-July. The one-day festival will celebrate Norwalk’s cultural diversity through performing arts, food and music.

Live entertainment including rhythm and blues, Latin, reggae and rock bands, drummers and dancers performing dancing genres such as African, Asian, and Flamenco will grace the stage throughout the day.

Cuisine from all around the world will be available for purchase from food trucks and local eateries.
Artists and craftspeople will be setting up booths to sell their original creations. Passersby who especially enjoy particular pieces often ask for the artists’ business cards so they can get in touch with them after the event.

Commercial and for profit booths will offer their goods and services and some usually pass out promotional products such as mugs, promotional pencils, and tote bags. Non-profits, health, and educational organizations will be on hand to answer any questions regarding their programs and missions.

Children’s activities will entertain the little ones from noon until 4:00 pm. Cultural displays and interactive games will all be family-friendly.

The 5th Annual NICE Festival 2020 will take place from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm Saturday, July 11 at Oyster Sell Park. The event will be free and will happen rain or shine.
