Norwalk parties with the mayor for charity
The 26th Annual Mayor’s Community Ball is coming in a few days, and Mayor Harry W. Rilling will be the host for the evening.
The evening will begin with a cocktail hour at 6:30 pm. That will be followed by the dinner at 7:30 pm. Dancing will start at 9:00 pm and go until closing. The raffles and silent auction will run from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm.
Local businesses and civic organizations are donating items for the silent auction. The auction raises most of the money that will be donated to this year’s charities.
The ball was started as a nonprofit charity organization and this year’s event will benefit the Norwalk Public Library’s Literacy Volunteers and Norwalk Domestic Violence Crisis Center.
Businesses that donate items to events such as this can use the gestures as part of their community support programs, and in turn submit them to print shops to use in their business brochure printing.
Tickets are $150 each and tables of 10 are still available. Reservations can be made until this Friday, January 18 unless the event sells out before then.
The 2019 Mayor’s Ball will take place at the Italian Center of Stamford’s Serafina, 1620 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, January 25 beginning at 6:30 pm. The affair should wind down around midnight. Black tie and cocktail dress attire is encouraged.
