Norwalk invited to a fine arts festival
The Westport Downtown Merchants Association’s 43 Annual Westport Fine Arts Festival is just around the corner. More than 140 artisans will be displaying their original works.
Artisans will be offering items in the genres of painting, sculpture, printmaking, ink, pencil and pastel drawings, watercolor, wood, glass, ceramics, photography, digital art, and mixed media. Norwalk-based attendees and other guests may want to ask their favorite artists for flyers or exchange information on digital business cards in order to get in touch with them at a later date.
Children can enjoy the Westport Arts Center Families and Fun Children’s Zone, and design their own works of art using unique and traditional materials. Adults will also have hands-on art activities.
Entertainment will include Carrie Ashton, Shiny Lapel Trio, the Neighborhood Jazz Ensemble, the Mill River Band, and Ken Atkins & the Honky Tonk Kid on Saturday, and Gracie Day, Wise old Moon, TTKs, Chase Leonard and Jerome Goosman, Jekyll and Hyde, and Chris McKay & the Tone Shifters on Sunday. Complementing the stage show will be street performers strolling throughout the event.
Awards will be given out in various categories. The artist who wins ‘Best in Show’ will receive $500.
The event is scheduled for July 16 and 17 at Parker Harding Plaza, Downtown Westport. Hours will be 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on both days.
