What's Happening in Norwalk, CT…

Norwalk holds oyster frenzy

The First County Bank will be presenting its 44th annual Oyster Festival in early September. Norwalk Seaport Association will host the three-day event that will feature fun, food, and free entertainment.

Children will have their own Kids’ Cove where they can get their faces painted, receive balloons, and be entertained with live performances, carnival rides, and games, with everyone winning prizes. Concessions stands will have popcorn, cotton candy, and other carnival treats, and there will be parades.

Dozens of local non-profits will be serving fresh lobster and other New England favorites. The International Food Court will offer cuisine from as far and wide as Italy, Colombia, and Mexico.

More than 100 arts and crafts vendors will set up shop in the A New England Village. Guests can meander through stalls that will be selling wearable art, sculpture, pottery, paintings, and the like. Many vendors will be giving demonstrations and offering interactive displays.

Vendors like these often include business cards with purchases.

Entrance fees will be $14 for adults, $6 for kids from five to twelve years old, $10 for seniors and free for children five and younger. All children will be able to get in free on Sunday, September 11.

The 2022 Norwalk Oyster Festival is scheduled from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Friday, September 9; Saturday, September 10 from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm; and Sunday, September 11 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
