This year's theme will be:
"Finding balance & harmony in nature's five elements: Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Spirit."
To raise awareness about protecting the environment, the festival will be bringing sustainable businesses, environmental non-profit organizations, speakers, interactive displays and kids' activities to emphasize how small changes in biodiversity, climate change and ecosystems preservation can impact the earth. Attendees will also learn what Norwalk is doing to make residents safe and to make Norwalk "green".
The event will feature a tree planting, live music, yoga instruction, food trucks, trashion show, picnic grove, labyrinth, face painting, beer garden, and green-themed vendors.
Colored flags will guide visitors around the Green.
Norwalk's 4th Annual Earth Day Festival will take place rain or shine Saturday, April 26th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Norwalk Green Historic District, Norwalk Green, 64 East Avenue.
At 10:30 am there will be an Earth Day Guided Walk in Norwalk conducted by Norwalk River Valley Trail's Nancy Rosett and Norwalk Historical Society's Diane Jellerette. Hikers are to meet at Norwalk City Hall, 1125 East Avenue.
