What's Happening in Norwalk, CT…

Norwalk area celebrates the holiday season

There are still plenty of activities going on in our area before the big day arrives.

Things at local Norwalk restaurant will get ugly for a good cause. Adults are invited to dig out their ugliest Christmas sweaters and head out to a local restaurant for an Ugly Sweater Party. Part of the proceeds for the night will go to a local charity. The person who wears the most Ho-HO-Horrible sweater will receive a prize.

Another nearby holiday event will be at the Pequot Library in Southport Village, which will be holding an open house and a holiday caroling party in a few days. Norwalk families will be taking horse-drawn carriage rides through the village going through areas that will be reminiscent of holiday cards. Kids will be creating pine cone bird feeders and decorating cookies. Two choirs will be serenading guests and joining them as everyone sings carols around a bonfire.

The event will be free and attendees are asked to bring unwrapped children’s books that will be given to underprivileged children from kindergarten age through high school.

The Pequot Library Holiday Party and Open House will be tonight, December 15th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at 720 Pequot Avenue, Southport.

The Ugly Sweater party will be at Norwalk’s Saltwater Sono Restaurant tomorrow, December 16, starting at 8:00 pm. The restaurant is located at 128 Washington Street, Norwalk.
