Local rotary club hosts charity event

Norwalk Rotary Club will be hosting Putt for Charity, a miniature golf tournament, in early October.

Guests will play 18 holes of miniature golf vying for awards and prizes at Norwalk’s Cove Marina.

Afterwards, they will stroll next door to Ripka’s Café and enjoy an outdoor dinner including drinks. Dinner will include appetizers, pizza, flank steak, BBQ chicken, roasted pork watermelon, vegetables, and cookies. An after-dinner guest speaker is yet to be announced.

All proceeds will go to Norwalk Hospital, Nuvance Health, and Filling in the Blanks, the latter of while is a non-profit organization that provides weekend meals for children of low -income families to over 40 area pre-schools, elementary, middle and high schools, as well as camps and after school programs in Norwalk, Stamford, Greenwich, New Canaan, and Bedford Hills.

Tickets will be $75 per person or $275 for groups of four.

Putt for Charity will take place on Tuesday, October 6 starting at 5:30 pm. Dinner will be at 7:00 pm. The event will wind down around 10:30 pm. If the weather becomes inclement, the event will be held Thursday, October 8. Norwalk Cove Marina Inc. is located at 48 Calf Pasture Beach Road.
