Local museum goes online for annual gala and tea
Norwalk’s Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum will continue presenting its programs virtually in October and November.
On October 17th from 8:00 pm until 9:00 pm the museum will present The Mansion’s Virtual Starlit Gala. The gala will honor David Westmoreland with its Start Award. Mr. Westmoreland is active in many Norwalk community programs. Bioehtics expert, Glenn E. McGee, PhD will be giving a special presentation. This event will include an online auction.
Proceeds from the event will go to support the museum and its online cultural and educational programs.
Virtual First Ladies Tea, On November 8th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm will feature a talk by Dr. Lisa M. Burns. She will be speaking on “The Media’s Fascination with First Ladies.”
There will be a guided tour of the museum from 2:00 pm until 2:45pm. This event will include a silent auction, special drawing and a hat competition. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the hat contest.
Tickets can be purchased on the museum’s website. Museum member tickets are $20 and non-member tickets will be $25. Proceeds from this event will go to the museums educational and cultural programs.
