What's Happening in Norwalk, CT…

June cools down with Norwalk social

Everyone in Norwalk, young and old, is invited to the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum next month for what promises to be a chance to social, learn, and enjoy some freshly scooped ice cream.

The social is a way for the museum to kick off the summer season, and also to recognize Flag Day. In addition to ice cream noshing, there will a patriotic salute given by a local boy scout troop.

Entertainment will also be provided by a variety of local musicians and singers, as well as youth groups from around the area (the exact lineup will be announced at a later date), as will activities that should be fun for both adults and children. In addition, visitors may shop at booths that have been set up, offering locally made crafts. Mini-tours of the mansion will be given too. Business-minded attendees should be sure to bring digital business cards for exchanging with museum staff and others at the social.

Visitors are also reminded that the museum relies on patrons and donors to maintain its existence, so those that wish to do so are encouraged to join others in the community that have donated this year.

The social will be held Sunday June 14 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm at the Mansion, 295 West Ave, Norwalk. Admittance will be free, though there will be a nominal charge for mini-tours and ice cream.
