What's Happening in Norwalk, CT…

City streets will be venue for a two-day arts festival

The upcoming South Norwalk Arts Celebration will feature more than 150 juried fine arts exhibitors and craftspeople.

Every artist has submitted slides of both their display booths and their work to be judged in 10 categories. These categories were sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, mixed media, fiber, glass, photography, painting, wood, and jewelry/metalwork.

Winners have been selected on the originally and quality of their work and how it has been displayed. Artists will be showing their work while demonstrating and explaining their processes and materials. Printing company representatives may want to have their digital business cards with them when viewing the printmaking entries.

Also onsite will be dozen of troupes, groups, and performing artists. Each act has been selected for its performance art and diversity. Along with the stage performers, the festival entertainment will also include children’s entertainers and assorted musicians who will be strolling in the streets. As has become tradition, there will again be a puppet parade. The Children’s Art Playground will give budding artists a chance to show their creativity by working on their own art and by adding their artistic talents to the Children’s Art Playground Murals.

The festival is scheduled for August 15 through August 16 in historic South Norwalk. Saturday hours will be 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Sunday hours will be 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
