Childrens museum enjoys worldwide celebrations
Norwalk’s Stepping Stones Museum for Children is celebrating holiday traditions from around the globe this month.
Let’s Celebrate! Worldwide continues to offer special experiences and performances, hands-on programming, light displays depicting diverse holiday celebrations, and interactive and immersive digital experiences.
A Christmas Carol Puppet Show will take place this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (December 15 to 17) at 2:00 pm each day.
Holiday music, rock and pop will be performed by Vivace String Ensemble of Suzuki Music Schools from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 23.
Mr. Horatio Holiday will offer comedy, music, magic, and circus skills as he performs on Thursday, December 28 at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
The spirit of Kwanzaa, complete with African drumming and dance, will be celebrated in Drums 4 Life on Friday, December 29 at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Stationery printers are beginning to offer notecards and stationery with photos portraying celebrations like Kwanzaa as awareness of them grows.
LB Stein will present an LED Glow Show on Saturday, December 30 at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Mr. Stein will be delighting audiences with LED fans, flow wings, and hula-hoop maneuvers.
Finally, 2023 will end at the museum with a Noon Year’s Eve Countdown to Noon at 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Star Factory’s DJ Lou will emcee the party, and guests can sing, dance, and view world New Year’s Eve celebrations on the huge immersive multimedia screen.
