Walk/Run in Greenwich to raise awareness

The second annual Walk/Run for Hope will be hosted by CancerCare at Greenwich Point this weekend.

Most likely the organization is turning to services like flyer printing to encourage people to participate, so that it can raise funds and continue to provide free and professional services for those who are affected by cancer.

State Representative Fred Camillo commented that it can be overwhelming for those facing a diagnosis of cancer, but the work of CancerCare means that people do not have to face it by themselves. The event brings people together to run or walk in honor of those who have survived the disease, to memorialize those who have lost their battle with cancer, and to support those who are currently afflicted with it.

All ages and levels of walkers and runners are welcome to participate. A T-shirt commemorating the event will be given to all participants and there will be awards for the top male and female participants in categories - both ones based on age and for the race overall.

Sandra Tripodi, who is the director of the regional office for Connecticut, commented that she is proud to be working with local volunteers and supporters of the financial assistance and free programs that CancerCare provides to those who are affected by a diagnosis of cancer.

It gets underway this Sunday, beginning at 9:00 am.
