Proposal for mansion to replace properties in Greenwich

A proposal has been submitted to the Planning and Zoning Commission of the town of Greenwich for a mansion with a garage in the basement.

The project would comprise of four parcels of land, three of which are on Maple Avenue and the fourth is on Park Avenue. The three houses on Maple Avenue have been demolished while the detached garage and house on Park Avenue are still intact.

The mansion would span close to 19,000 square feet and would have two three-car garages, five bedrooms, and a basement with an art gallery, a squash court, and an indoor pool with an area for the collection of 40 cars of the applicant.

Also featured in the house would be a central atrium and an indoor pool as part of the patio next to the first floor. The proposal also calls for a tennis court and a detached guest suite with two bedrooms and a living room. The entire site will require new landscaping to be done.

Local Print shops can help inform residents of such proposed projects on their impact on a community with Banners, Flyers, and other printed materials.

As the proposed single-family house and guest quarters have a proposed volume that exceeds the requirements of 1,200 square feet and 150,000 cubic feet, a special permit will be required when a final site plan is submitted.
