The first Back to School Fundraising Campaign is being launched by the YMCA of Greenwich. This is a new initiative that is designed to ensure that all children in Greenwich have the resources, care, and confidence needed to be successful in school starting on the first day.
There are four key programs of the YMCA that collaborate to meet the needs of working families and children of all ages.
This campaign has been started when there is a demand for more opportunities in affordable enrichment and childcare in the greater community of Greenwich. The YMCA is also planning to open its new Early Learning Center, which will provide high-quality care to preschool children, toddlers, and infants. The campaign will also support the After School Enrichment Program of the YMCA.
Funds raised from the campaign will also support the Play Every Day program, which was started during the last academic year. This program enables staff from the YMCA to local elementary schools during recess to keep kids moving and engaged throughout the day and promote active play
The campaign also supports Running Start, the annual back-to-school shopping program of the YMCA. This summer, gift cards worth $150 will be given to 125 children from local families to shop for new school supplies, clothes, and shoes.
Such campaigns and the results of their fundraising efforts are often made known throughout a community with poster printing.
