Residential development planned for Greenwich area

Developers propose to build 201 apartment units and 60 townhouses at the Greenwich town line.

These residential units would be in Stamford on the site of what was once the Conair Corp. building on Barry Place. The building was the home of office space and a warehouse and was torn down in 2024. The Innis Arden Golf Club in Greenwich borders the site.

Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform residents of such potential projects.

Leandro Rizzuto Jr., executive at Conair, and Continental Family Holdings LLC, the developer, plan to designate 26 units as affordable. The development will also provide 474 parking spaces and additional amenities. There would be two larger buildings for the apartment units at the rear of the property.

Michael Cacace, the attorney for the plan, said that it would help the community achieve its goals of revitalizing the neighborhood as well as providing more affordable housing and housing in general.

St. Clement Church on Fairfield Avenue is across the street from the property. The pastor of the church, Rev. Carlos Rodrigues, is supporting the project. He said that the development would greatly improve the neighborhood as it would benefit from the affordable units as well as housing that is much needed.

In the coming weeks, the Planning and Zoning Boards of the city will review the plans.
