Coming up at the Arch Street Teen Center in Greenwich is a unique opportunity for teenagers to meet Shep and Ian Murray, the CEOs and founders of Vineyard Vines, and learn about how they became successful in building their clothing business.
This talk is part of the Arch Street Meets Speaker Series, the mission of which is to provide opportunities of a more informal nature to teenagers to get advice and ask questions about educational experiences and career paths from leaders who are well-known in a variety of professional fields.
The Teen Center has been a lively place since the beginning of the year, but it opened a new, quieter space last month. As per teen suggestions, this was named the Greenwich Grind.
According to the Teen Center's executive director, Kyle Silver, the area is designed to be a place for traditional socializing. Rather than texting or using social media, the kids can have face-to-face conversations in a modern environment, yet integrating some old-fashioned touches. Leaders are also encouraging teens to use the space as somewhere to hold club meetings and plan special events, such as musical performers and film screenings.
The Vineyard Vines talk is scheduled for this Thursday, March 5 at 6:30 pm. The Center most likely has turned to flyer printing companies to put together items that are attractive to teens and generate enthusiasm for the talk.
