Special designation given to school in Greenwich

The designation of Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary has been bestowed on Sacred Heart Greenwich, only one of three schools in the country with the designation.

The other two schools are the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and American University in Washington, D.C.

The school said that this shows the strong commitment of the school to stewardship and sustainability in five categories, which are education, resources, water, wildlife, and environmental planning. The school added that these are the five main components which are used by the program to help participating businesses and organizations.

Such schools often turn to local printing services to spread the word throughout the community about such designations and their benefits with Flyers, Posters, and other printed materials.

The goal of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program is to help businesses and organizations protect the environment while also maintaining and increasing profits. It enables businesses and organizations to assess their environmental resources and develop a plan that fits with the staff, setting, time, and budget of the business or organization.

Many types of businesses and organizations can be part of this program. Other types of establishments that have been certified, or can be certified, include cemeteries, parks, and resorts. Current certifications include 28 businesses and organizations. Once certified, businesses and organizations need to go through a recertification process every three years.
