New pizza eatery to move to Greenwich

Riko’s Pizza is planning to relocate from Selleck Street in Stamford to the border of Old Greenwich.

The new location of Riko’s Pizza, which is known for its thin crust and hot oil pizzas, will move to a new building on W. Main Street. The building will span 5,000 square feet in comparison to its current 3,000 square-foot space. Luigi Cardillo and Rico Imbrogno, principal owners, said the new location will have a patio outdoors and more space indoors for spreading out. Poster printing can be used to promote such new eateries in town once they become operational.

Imbrogno said that the move near Old Greenwich on Route 1 will provide more exposure to the eatery, as the two owners are looking to expand to other locations. There is now a second shop in Mineola, New York on Long Island, as well as one on the Hempstead Turnpike also on Long Island, and there are plans to open a shop in Jupiter, Florida.

In addition to its signature thin crust pies, Riko’s Pizza serves salad pizzas, salads, and oven-baked wings. Unique to the pizzeria is an offering made with homemade hot oil, with stinger peppers as a topping to ramp up the heat factor.

It is hoped that the new location will open by the end of this year.
