Greenwich to build new residential community

A home on Pemberwick Road in Greenwich that was built in 1879 may be demolished to make way for a residential community of 10 units.

237 Pemberwick LLC, the developer, has submitted plans to the Greenwich Planning and Zoning Department to raze the house and build three building two and a half stories in eight as part of a multi-family residential community. There would be four units with one bedroom and one bathroom in two of the buildings with two units with one bedroom and one bathroom in the other building. Two of the units would be affordable housing and be rented to those who earn no more than 80 percent of median income in the area.

Joseph A. Pecora, representing the developer, said that this will provide opportunities for housing for mixed-income families, for which there is a strong demand. Local Print shops can assist with advertising such projects throughout the community with Flyers, mailers, and other printed materials.

The site will have 15 parking spaces. Kimley-Horn and Associates conducted a traffic study and reported that there would be barely any effect on parking and traffic in the area from the construction of this development.

Assistance with the construction of the project is being provided by the Greenwich Affordable Housing Trust Fund, which has approved a loan of $50,000 for the project.
