The Talent Search is the most prestigious and oldest science and math competition in the country for high school seniors. There were close to 2,000 entrants this year and each student submitted an original research project, and went through a demanding application process. Those who became finalists had rigorous science projects which demonstrated their potential to become scientists and leaders who bring about change in the world.
Andrew Bramante, a science teacher at Greenwich High School, expressed his pride in Jain for her innovative and imaginative project, which will create a solution to ensure the health of food resources around the globe.
The finalists will travel to Washington, D.C. from Thursday, March 5 to Wednesday, March 11 for the final judging process and over $1.8 million in awards. Jain will have the opportunity to present her project to public on March 8, and to meet with members of Congress and leading scientists during her week in the nation’s capital.
