Greenwich hospital celebrates heart-healthy month

The Greenwich Hospital is planning a series of lectures on the theme of heart health for this month, and rounding it off with a fair.

The lectures will cover such topics as irregular heartbeats, the risk of stroke, and overall strategies for cardiac fitness.

Eric Bader, M.D., a cardiovascular disease specialist, will discuss new state-of-the-art cardiac testing technologies to diagnosis abnormal heartbeats, also known as arrhythmia, on Tuesday, February 9 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

On Wednesday, February 10 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Erin Culbert, D.O., an internal medicine specialist, will discuss how diet and exercise can make a difference in keeping a healthy heart.

The Heart Health Fair is the culminating event for the month. At the fair, there will be pharmacists, educators, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals on hand to talk about risk, prevention, and options for treatment of heart conditions.

According to the President of Greenwich Hospital, Norman Roth, the hospital is committed to providing various cardiac services, including prevention, screening, treatment and rehabilitation. The goal of the health fair and of the hospital in general to have state-of-the-art resources available for treatment, and to keep people aware of heart health.

The fair will be held on Thursday, February 25, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. This will be a good opportunity for Brochures to be printed by the various healthcare professionals on heart health, and the services provided by the hospital.
