Greenwich headmaster recognized at yearly event

The Connecticut Parent Teacher Student Association recently chose Chris Winters, the Headmaster of Greenwich High School, as the High School Administrator of the Year for 2014.

Most likely the High School and the Association are using a variety of printing services to let those in the Greenwich community become aware of this award, which was presented on March 19.

Winters said that he was “very honored” to be recognized in this way. He added that at Greenwich High School, parents work closely with educators so their children can get the best tuition possible, and the award acknowledges this collaboration and the parents who attend school events, volunteer, actively participate in the educational process of their children, and contribute to the school.

Commenting on one of his greatest achievements in the school of 2,800 students, Winters said that communication with parents is designed to be as focused, timely, and comprehensive as possible. Parents are able to raise their concerns and ask questions through the various forums and events designed to help them see what happens on a daily basis at the school.

The goals that Winters has for the future include completing improvements to the school’s infrastructure, expanding the use of technology in the classroom, and looking to new ways to meet the needs of all types of learners.

He will be honored at the annual meeting and awards dinner of the Connecticut Parent Teacher Student Association scheduled for April 24 in Hamden.
