Cycling challenge to raise money for cancer support

CT Challenge will be holding its annual bike ride later this month, the proceeds of which go to support the CT Challenge Center for Survivorship’s cancer events and programs in Southport, and at healthcare providers and hospitals that are part of its network.

The two-day event will start on a Friday at the Interlaken Inn in Lakeville and then travel 85 miles through the countryside to the County Hunt Club in Westport, just outside of Greenwich. On the Saturday, thousands of other cyclists are expected to join the ride with options to bike anywhere between 10 and 100 miles. The latter is known as ‘New England’s Toughest Century’. The ride is designed for leisure cyclists to more serious riders and those with skills in-between.

In addition to biking, there will be food and live music for entertainment on the first day. According to the web site of CT Challenge, the event also provides gifts in return for various levels of fundraising, is good exercise, and encourages camaraderie and friendship among the cyclists.

The ride will be taking place on Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26.

Every year, CT Challenge uses printing services to publish a special yearbook to commemorate the ride. It is used as a keepsake for the riders and helps to spread awareness of the work of the organization.
