The Greenwich Art Society will be offering a new watercolor class for beginners.
The class will focus on the basic principles of painting with watercolors to enable attendees to start off in the right footing. The concepts that will be taught will include colors, values, materials, and basic techniques. Knowledge of these principles will provide attendees with a solid foundation in the medium and will ensure confidence to move onto more difficult subject matter.
The watercolor class will be taught by Greta Corens. Corens is an art and design teacher and started teaching after successfully being a fashion designer in New York City. Her specialties are botanical watercolors, illustrations, landscapes, and portraiture. She said that as much as her paintings are realistic, they also display personality and have qualities that distinguish them and set them apart from photographs. Corens attended the division of St. Lucas Architectural Institute in Brussels, Belgium from which she received a master’s degree in art, architecture, and design.
More details about such classes and the instructor are often provided with brochure printing.
The class will run for 11 Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. from January 10 through March 20. The tuition for the course is $450 with discounts available for members. The class will be in person at the Greenwich Art Society on Greenwich Avenue.
