Home ownership will become more attainable for the residents of Aurora as the median price of a house in the state is over $500,000.
A resolution has been passed by the city to support modular construction as a separate category of housing to increase the number of affordable homes in the city and the state.
Modular homes differ from mobile homes in that they are constructed in a factory and then transported to their destination.
Françoise Bergan, a member of the Aurora City Council, said that the city is always looking for innovative solutions to issues in the city. He expressed his pride in the ability of the city to take on this idea.
Bergen said that once on site, it is not possible to differentiate between a frame house built on location versus one that was built in the factory. He added that people also own the property on which the home is located, and the homes are built to high-quality standards. Brochure printing can be used to provide more details about such homes, their features, and benefits.
Governor Jared Polis said that the affordable housing financing fund of Proposition 123 will be used to support the manufacturing of modular housing in the state. Polis expects that close to 5,000 homes will be built in this fashion this year.
