Major mixed-use development planned for Aurora

Close to 5,000 new homes along with 53 acres of open spaces and parks will be coming to Aurora in a new development.

The development will be along the E-470 corridor and 56th Avenue in Adams County. At a cost of $3.1bn, the Windler Public Improvement Authority will have, in addition to the new residential units, over 2.2 million square feet of retail, office and industrial space, parks and open spaces, and 750 hotel rooms in five hotels. Banner printing companies are often employed by such developments to make them known throughout the community, and to offer them as consideration for future residents and businesses.

The architect is the PCS Group, the developer is GVP Windler, and $287m in funding for the project has been secured by the Special District Group of Piper Sandler.

Public finance investment banker and senior vice president at Piper Sandler, Shelby Turner, said that their company prides itself on its partnerships with real estate developers and local government to create unique structures for financing to fund the infrastructure needs of the public. Turner expressed excitement about Windler coming together to offer accessible community amenities and versatile residential choices in this growing area of the metropolitan region of Denver.

Construction on the development is planned to begin next year and is expected to be completed by 2032.
