Key United States House subcommittees have approved over $11.6m in federal funding for public safety, federal funding, healthcare, and other projects for the metropolitan Aurora area.
Representative Jason Crow said that his primary focus in Congress is to deliver for the people of Colorado. He confirmed that the funding that has been approved will help families across the district and the state. More information about such funding and the projects it supports can be made known throughout the community with flyer printing.
One of the projects will be $3m for the central location of the Aurora Public Library to expand and improve its infrastructure. This will include a new space for teenagers that will also serve the purpose of a youth and community hub.
The city of Aurora will also receive $900,000 for relocating and making improvements on the pressure-regulating valves installed in the 1950s and 1960s, and are used to regulate pressure in the distribution systems of potable water, which has the potential to reduce the breaks in water mains.
Another $850,000 will be allocated to the workforce training and education space at The Center for STEM, Power Mechanics and Applied Technologies at the Community College of Aurora. These funds are in partnership with Construction Technology Early College High School and Aurora Public Schools.
