Aurora Water to enhance operations with new software

The city of Aurora will be implementing new software to transform the operations and customer service in the city’s Water Department.

The city has hired SpryPoint of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, to implement its platform of integrated cloud applications designed specifically for municipalities and their utilities to help Aurora Water. Among the applications that will be implemented will be SpryPoint’s customer engagement platform, customer information system, cross connection control, and mobile field service.

The platform from SpryPoint uses a Software as a Service (SaaS) model to deliver a set of integrated cloud applications. The new platform will enable Aurora Water to re-architect business processes and leverage new tools that will improve the customer service experience and enhance the productivity of its employees. Residents of such cities are often informed of such new software implementations through flyer printing services.

Deputy Director of Aurora Water, Jo Ann Giddings, said that the city is involved in updating many of its systems at the same time. She added that Aurora Water was looking for a solution that would be able to adjust to reflect its customers’ expectations, which can change rapidly. The department evaluated various software platforms over a period of 10 months, and selected SpryPoint as it had a functionally rich suite of applications and was the most advanced from a technological standpoint.
