“One Book, One Aurora: From Page to Stage” has been launched by the Aurora Fox Arts Center and the Aurora Public Library.
This is an initiative to encourage people to read Mark Haddon’s “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” and engage in a series of events to promote support and awareness of those who are autistic through programming and partnerships. Poster printing can be used to promote such communitywide programs throughout a city.
The events will begin with an open rehearsal of a Simon Stephens play based on the book, which will be at the Aurora Fox Arts Center. This will be an opportunity for attendees to ask the director and actors about the production. It will be on Thursday, February 27 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
There will be a discussion of the book at the Central Library on Saturday, March 1 beginning at 10:30 am. Those who attend both events will have their names entered into a raffle for a chance to win free tickets to the play.
There will be a reception before the performance of the play at the Aurora Fox Arts Center and a discussion with cast members and director Richard Cowden after the performance on Sunday, March 23. The reception will be from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm and the performance will follow at 2:00 pm. The play runs until Sunday, April 13.
