Aurora to feature special activities for public

The city of Aurora will be hosting two special events next month.

The first will be the annual Fourth of July fireworks display. The fireworks will launch from Bicentennial Park.

Those who wish to view the fireworks will be able to do so from the Great Lawn at the Aurora Municipal Center. The grounds and the parking lot will be both open to the public. Visitors will be able to enjoy their own water, snacks, and other nourishment and their chairs and blankets so they enjoy the display. The fireworks will also be visible from neighborhood parks and residences in the area.

The Great Lawn will open at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday July 4. The fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. and last for a half hour. Arapahoe County is the sponsor of this year’s event. Such special events are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing.

The city will also be hosting three Splash ‘n Scoop socials later in the month. These socials will feature ice-cream, while supplies last, and sun and fun at a neighborhood spray ground. Each social will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The first one will be at Del Mar Park, on Tuesday July 20; the second one at Red-tailed Hawk Park on Wednesday July 21; and the third will be held at Great Plains Park on Thursday July 22.
