A talented artist is being sought by the Art in Public Places (AIPP) program of the city of Aurora to create a piece for the Day Room at the Aurora Regional Navigation Campus. This work should reflect the intention and mission of the project.
The artwork should also highlight the social struggle for the guests and the transitions and personal growth that will take place, while also helping people discover their sense of being and purpose and look to the future. The budget for the project is $75,000.
Brochure printing can be used to provide more details about such programs and requirements for artwork of this nature.
The Aurora Regional Navigation Campus is new and can be found on E. 40th Avenue, replacing what was once the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Convention Center. It will provide services for those experiencing homelessness and will include daytime and emergency shelter, employment services, medical health services and clinics, workforce development, and melas, among others. It is scheduled to open late next year.
The winning piece of art will be situated in the lobby, which has been converted to the new Day Room. The room has a great deal of wall space available for art, and the work should provide a sense of welcoming to guests.
Applications need to be submitted no later than Friday, November 15.
