The Art 2C On Havana Street exhibit, held every two years, is now open and is being presented by the Art in Public Places program and the Havana Business Improvement District of the city of Aurora.
This is an exhibition of sculpture, which presents new works of art every two years along the Havana Corridor at 12 locations from the south side of Dartmouth Avenue to Concorde Healthcare Training on the north side of Havana Street. It offers a professional chance for artists and inspires an environment where individuals who are creative can contribute to economic development and thrive.
Poster printing is often used to promote such unique exhibits throughout a city and surrounding communities.
Part of the exhibition is also an awards competition. An art selection panel recognizes the top three pieces of art, and these artists receive cash prizes. The art selection panel is composed of stakeholders, the executive director of the Havana Business Improvement District, members of the city council, and commissioners and artists from Art in Public Places.
The winners this year are Vanny Channal in first place with “Colorado”; Charlotte Zink in second place with “Side by Earth”; and Albert Rhea in third place with “Parent and Child.” The first-place prize won $1,250, second place earned $750, and third place won $500.
This exhibit will run through the fall of 2026.
