Aurora museum celebrates Nepalese culture

A new exhibition titled “Mosaic of Cultures: Aurora’s Nepali Community” is now open at the History Museum in Aurora.

This exhibition is part of the “Mosaic of Culture” series which promotes the understanding of the culturally diverse populations. The Aurora History Museum reached out to the Nepali people in Aurora to get their input as to how they wanted to be represented in this exhibit.

Director of the Aurora History Museum, T. Scott Williams, said that the exhibit features the unique and rich aspects of the Nepali community and includes their traditional foods, religion, dance, art, and music. He said that this exhibit will help to raise awareness about the significant contributions of the Nepali community to the history of Aurora. He added that it will highlight the stories of business owners and individuals, history, and culture, and will feature cultural objects provided by immersive elements, interviews, archival images, and community members to bring the spirit of Nepal to life.

Such unique and special exhibits are often promoted throughout a city and surrounding communities with poster printing.

The hours of the Aurora History Museum are 9:00am to 4:00pm Tuesday through Friday and from 11:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. The museum is located on E. Alameda Parkway and admission is always free. This exhibit is running through April 2025.
