The Sacramento Zoo will be taking part in the BIG Day of Giving, and residents of West Sacramento and the surrounding areas are invited to show the rest of the country just how generous they can be.
Along with the zoo, a group of more than 500 not-for-profit organizations have set a total goal of raising at least $6m in 24 hours, which will earn it the top spot in the whole country when it comes to lending a helping hand.
To help spread the word about the campaign, Charlie, who is a resident great horned owl has been chosen as the facility’s ‘spokesbird’ for the BIG day of Giving. He is part of its animal ambassador program that helps bring wildlife and children together so that they can learn about the natural world and the creatures that call it home. A Print company can create a variety of promotional items that can help to spread word about fundraising efforts such as this.
The event will take place on May 3. All contributions of more than $25 will be accepted, and for each one, the zoo will receive a little bit extra from a pool of funding that has been formed by local partners. This way, each donation will go even further.
Those who would like to donate to the zoo on the BIG Day of Giving or who just wish to find out more are invited to visit the zoo’s website.
