Summer hit film flies into West Sacramento

West Sacramento’s Arthur F. Turner Community Library will host the summer hit film Superman this November.

The PG-13-rated film will screen alongside a craft activity for children centered on Krypto the Superdog, who is a character featured in the film.

Starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, the James Gunn-directed film features the big blue Boy Scout after two years into his mission of protecting the citizens of Earth.

Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Edi Gathegi’s Mr. Terrific and Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl, are just a few of the gallery of other metahuman side characters featured in the movie.

After grossing more than $600m worldwide at the box office, Superman later became a hit on the streaming service HBO Max, garnering 13 million global viewers since debuting in late September.

Nicholas Hoult, who originally auditioned to play Superman, also stars in the film as his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor. Gunn has already announced that the sequel, Man of Tomorrow, coming out in 2026, will see Lex and Superman team up.

Movie screenings like this may choose to use banner printing for marquees or signage.

Superman screens on Saturday, November 29 at 2:00 pm at the Arthur F. Turner Library inside the meeting room of the same name at 1212 Merkley Avenue in West Sacramento.
