Student rock concert held in West Sacramento

West Sacramento’s Drake’s: The Barn is hosting the end-of-season show for School of Rock Elk Grove this January.

The music school teaches novice children musicians to learn the craft of not only nailing their instruments but also having a confident stage presence through a series of performances that culminate at the end of every season.

All skill levels are welcome to participate in the School of Rock classes, from beginners to advanced. The combination of one-on-one teaching and rehearsing set lists in a group is the unique method that sets the program apart from other musical schools, teaching children classic rock instrumentation, including drums, guitar, keyboard and vocals. In addition, music theory is taught through the teaching of individual rock songs.

Children as young as 4 can start classes under the School of Rock’s Little Wing program and students ages 8-13 are eligible to join Rock 101 without any prerequisites. From there, the students can move on to the Performance Program with the focus of a single instrument.

The upcoming free concert includes music by artists such as The Beatles, Weezer and My Chemical Romance.

Concerts like this may choose to use printing services to create performance schedules and set lists.

The School of Rock Elk Grove End of Season 26 show is happening on January 24 from 11 am to 8 pm at Drake’s: The Barn at 985 Riverfront St in West Sacramento.
