What's Happening in West Sacramento, CA…

People living in the West Sacramento area will have the opportunity to participate in a backpack giveaway event before the school year begins.

The Backpack Bash, hosted by the Mixed Foundation, will occur at the Mixed Institute of Cosmetology and Barber in Sacramento this August.

The event will include not only backpack giveaways, but also free haircuts, school supplies, and community resources, all offered against a backdrop of local live music and vendors.

There is no cost to attend the event, although registration is required. The aim is to help students be better positioned to succeed in the school year by being fully prepared with the proper supplies and materials.

Local vendors offering community resources are expected at the event, as are family-friendly activities, raffle prizes, games, and other giveaways.

One child is permitted to attend per ticket issued and only one backpack can be distributed per child. In addition, the child must be in attendance at the event to receive the backpack. The Backpacks and other supplies are available based on a first come, first served basis. The event will happen regardless of the weather, because it is located partly indoors and partly outdoors.

Vendors who attend community events like this may choose to use banner printing to create easy-to-read Signs for their business or non-profit organization.

The Mixed Foundation’s 3rd Annual Backpack Giveaway and Community Celebration is happening on Tuesday, August 12 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at 5950 Florin Rd in Sacramento.
