West Sacramento to promote Latin and funk music

West Sacramento music fans can attend a program at Drake’s: The Barn in August to see two bands perform.

The Latin & Funk Night is a program that is part of Drake’s: The Barn’s West Sac Rhythm on the River music series. The community concert will feature performances from Sol Peligro and Ideateam. Guests can also enjoy family activities at the venue and purchase food from nearby trucks. Those who attend are not allowed to bring outside refreshments, and dog owners must keep their pets on a leash during the concert.

Sol Peligro is a Latin and alternative band that formed in San Bernadino in 2005. The group has worked with several notable performers, such as B Side Players, The English Beat, and Celso Pena. The band also won Outstanding Latin Band at the Sacramento Area Music Awards.

Ideateam is a cast of Sacramento musicians who perform vintage and modern cover arrangements. Past songs made by the group include ‘Bingo Night’ and ‘Blue Kung Fu.’

The public concert will take place on Thursday, August 25 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. There is no fee for guests to watch either performance at the venue, though attendees can register in advance. Those who promote local concerts like this may use poster printing to get people interested in attending the shows.
