The event will see a large holiday tree lit up for the first time, providing light through some of the year’s longest nights. There will be a variety of activities aimed at children, including photos with Santa Claus, and free cookies and hot cocoa. There will also be live musical performances from area artists. Visitors are invited to wear their best holiday outfits, whether it be fancy dress or ugly sweaters. Promotional material emphasizes the community nature of the event:

There will also be a market full of artisan and craft vendors, selected through an online application process. The Tree Lighting ceremony is part of the Chamber’s efforts to promote local businesses and encourage entrepreneurship, which also include a Cheers with the Chamber networking event on December 11 designed to welcome new members.
The 2024 West Sacramento Tree Lighting ceremony will take place on the evening of December 6 in the Civic Center District.
