West Sacramento to hold film discussion

West Sacramento residents can attend a program held by Yolo County Library that discusses The Cost of Darkness.

The Cost of Darkness: Documentary & Discussion is a multi-week activity that will be using the film to teach attendees about the factors contributing to current societal problems. Guests will learn about several topics, like the media, healthcare, and the environment. Sandy Holman is the presenter of the program. No reservations are required to take part in the viewing and discussion. Libraries that host presentations such as this can use poster printing to inform their patrons about new activities.

Holman is the current director of The Culture C.O.-O.P., which stands for caring, optimistic, open-minded people. The organization promotes inclusion and education for all by working with partners who engage with the community, including businesses. The group hosts multiple art shows and has even created a children’s book. Artists who have worked with the organization include Hannah Price and Mahima Kale. United in Unity is a non-profit sister organization with the same goals as The Culture of C.O.-O.P. People can donate or sponsor the group to help its cause.

The Cost of Darkness: Documentary & Discussion will have sessions throughout February each Wednesday. The presentation is appropriate for an adult and teen audience. Links to each broadcast can be found on the Yolo County Library’s website.
