A West Sacramento based company seeking to rub shoulders with the leaders in the world of agricultural technology has got its foot in the door by being selected for a startup accelerator program.
California Safe Soil LLC was chosen from among 40 different startup companies who participated in the Thrive Accelerator Seed competition, which was held last month in San Jose.
The contest was judged by the San Jose based investment and consulting group SVG Partners, as well as Forbes Magazine, and California Safe Soil’s new composting system helped the company nestle among the 10 startups chosen as the winners. Though most of the fellow startups are American, there are firms from Ireland, Switzerland and Israel as well.
The new composting system uses enzymes to break down food waste from grocery stores, which is rapidly transformed into fertilizer that is highly nutritious for plants. It can then be used in the agricultural industry without the risk to the environment posed by some chemical-based fertilizer choices.
The Agriculture Accelerator will be held in Salena, and will run through February and wind up in March. The winners of the accelerator will be presented at the Reinventing America’s AgriTech summit in July, where they will compete for funding.
Information about a company winning the contest can be included on its promotional materials, perhaps created by professional brochure printers. for distribution to potential customers and clients.
