Uniquely delivered comedy visits West Sacramento area

Residents in Sacramento and West Sacramento will have the chance to see a performance from a comedian known for his unique delivery style of yelling and ranting.

Lewis Black, the two-time Grammy Award winner, is coming to the Crest Theatre in Sacramento to perform his high-volume takes on observations about life and its contradictions.

Stand-up comedy shows like these will often use brochure printing for programs and flyer printing for promotion.

Black has been featured prominently on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show as its most seasoned correspondent. He hosts a podcast, Rant Cast, and has written dozens of plays and several Books.

Outside of television, Black has steadily made a name for himself in movies using his distinctive delivery — yelling every word he utters — in early roles like Accepted and Man Of The Year.

Of particular note is Black’s turn as Anger in the 2015 Pixar film Inside Out. The role garnered multiple awards, including that year’s Teen Choice Award for best “Hissy Fit” in a film. The role also won him several Behind the Voice Actors Awards, including some he shared with the ensemble cast.

Tragically, I Need You is the name of Black’s latest comedy special, which has more than 1.3 million views on YouTube. Before that, he released Thanks for Risking Your Life in 2020. His comedy specials have aired on Showtime, HBO, Epix and Comedy Central.

Lewis Black is performing at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento on January 25.
