Shinmei Foods opens facility in West Sacramento

Shinmei Foods from Japan has opted to open a production unit within West Sacramento.

The building will house 20 employees to begin with, and rice will be grown locally. Printing services in West Sacramento could receive a boost from the move by way of Stationery printing for the firm. The Mayor of West Sacramento, Christopher Cabaldon, has claimed that the location decision of the firm has made sure the city “has emerged as a global food hub.”

Over a period of years, West Sacramento has attracted several food industry corporations. One of these firms has opened a facility that is 70,000 square feet in extent. This is another Japanese corporation. Nippon Shokken chose a site within half a mile of the place selected by Shinmei Foods back in 2013.

European conglomerates have also chosen to work in the area. However, it is not just companies from far away that have seen the potential of West Sacramento. Raley’s has made its headquarters inside the boundaries of the city.

Shinmei Foods has decided to manufacture rice patties on the site. These will be free from gluten, as the business has the desire to capitalize on the changing diet of Americans in the region. However, it has international plans in the long term.

The organization has stressed that the patties can be part of a healthy diet. They have also pointed out that the versatile food can be eaten with hamburgers.
