The West Sacramento area will have its fill of everything spicy when the Salsa Festival takes place at the recently renovated Old Sacramento Waterfront on the Embarcadero this spring.
For a nominal entry fee, the general public can attend the Sacramento Salsa Festival and serve as the voting body for the what is billed as Northern California’s largest salsa contest.
The all-ages event will include a salsa tasting bar on the Embarcadero Terrace, live music, two stages for entertainment, a family carnival, and vendors. The food theme for the event will be street tacos. For the 21-and-over crowd, there will be a beer and margarita garden.
The salsa contest will have a limit of 25 competitors, who each must pay a $50 entry fee. The top three winners will receive trophies. In addition, the first place winner will get $1,000, the second place winner will get $250, and the third place winner will get $50. The public may vote on the People’s Choice Trophy, which will be included in the competition.
Festivals like this may choose to use promotional Pens and other printed goods to help vendors make an impression with their brand on the public.
The Sacramento Salsa Festival is happening on Saturday, May 10 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Old Sacramento Waterfront at 1014 2nd Street.
